The Reason You Can’t Concentrate

Remedios Varo - Woman Departing from the Psychanalyst's Office 1960

Many people say that it’s hard to focus, hard to concentrate the mind. Most people are only fully present in their thoughts and actions for a tiny portion of each day. They can sustain deliberate awareness for a few seconds and then it begins to dissipate. It is one of the seven wonders of my world as a Meditation Teacher and Mindset Coach over many years, that we can still function as well as we do, given how lacking in focus, and how unconscious most of us are, most of the time. Bowing is simply a moment of being fully present with open-heartedness and generosity. It is a way of saying “come closer.” It is a way of entering another’s world ..”

Caitriona Reed Part 1

Caitriona ReedAll change is possible. We begin where many end, by teaching you to suspend limiting your belief about what is possible – not to mislead you, but to open doors to the truly miraculous nature of transformation. We start with the open-heartened understanding that we simply cannot anticipate the extend to which a client, student, or patient can transform and heal. We begin with the perspective that focuses on what works, rather than on what is wrong; and that person requires very little in order to embody a fully balanced, congruent, dynamic and creative life – regardless of outside circumstances.

Mindfulness and Clearly Defined Outcomes

two kids on a fence.. if you don’t have a destination or a goal how will you ever arrive there? And, if you are so focused on your goals that you forget where you are, how will you know where to begin? To pursue your dreams, and to live fully in the present, that is the key ..

A Simple Recipe for Success and Change

sommersault to successSome people say that everything that happens to you is based on a choice or decision that you made. That may not always be true. What is true is that HOW you RESPOND to what happens to you in your life is absolutely your choice, and your responsibility.

That means – your mindset, your inner, emotional state, your creativity, your problem solving-ability, your ability to move forward with clear precise action … all  of that is your choice.

Abraham Lincoln once said, “People are about as happy as they make up their minds to be.”  You know that true, right? Or did you forget?
And if you forgot what is it that blocks you? What are you afraid of? What are you forgetting that prevents you from truly stepping into the fullness of your power … and who you can be?

Silence?

Silence - Meditation RetreatsPeople often ask about silence and how silent our retreats are and why. And whether there’s any talking at all, if they get some guidance from us, the teachers.

Well, the answer to that is yes, we give some very specific guidance and instruction; and yes, these are silent retreats. Meditations are silent, meals are silent, and people are encouraged not to engage in social talk.

The purpose is not to close you down, or to cut you off from others. It’s something else, leading you towards a greater silence than can really only be found inside. To read full text click here

walking_uo_hillWhat’s exciting to me now is how all the skills derived from my work as a hypnotherapist, and NLP trainer, complement my meditation teaching and practice. There is a relationship between goals and the goal-less state, and understanding that relationship gives you a bigger vision and a clearer view.

More than just removing obstacles, you become the change…

At the same time, if you have a goal, but are fixated on arriving there, without really knowing where you are right now, you cannot fully know the steps you must take.
